What can you expect from your first four months with SelfDesign?
In our Getting Started with SelfDesign program, you will be introduced to SelfDesign MindMapping, SelfDesign Learning Plans, Family Visioning, and SelfDesign Observing for Learning. We offer you the nurturing, educational guidance that your family needs in the first four months to get you off to a good start in how to enjoy learning with your children.
You will see the spark of curiosity ignited in your children as they engage in learning that is fun and meaningful. If traditional education has stifled their joy in learning, then you will be thrilled to see the light in your children's eyes shining brightly again. After four months, what comes next?
After your four months in the Getting Started program, you will now be able to choose the Learning Path which is best for you and your family: The SelfDesign Portfolio, Interaction, or Ultimate Learning Paths. Your SelfDesign Learning Consultant will guide you in choosing the continuing path that best fits your needs.
All Learning Paths for learners ages 6-14 include the following core elements:
- Interaction with a dedicated Learning Consultant
- SelfDesign Learning Plan
- Observations for Learning
- Membership in the SelfDesign Global Community
- Active discussion groups
- Resource lists
- Learner project groups and online clubs
- Online groups for parents
- Cumulative progress reports
- Happy, passionate, inspired children, excited parents and a 'school' environment as good as can be imagined...
Your choice of Learning Path will determine what additional benefits you will receive:
- Portfolio Path: If you need to have full documentation of your child's learning provided by SelfDesign, then our Portfolio Path
may best meet your needs. Along with the core elements listed above, it includes:
- 30 minutes per month with a dedicated Learning Consultant, divided among one-on-one phone consultations, video chats and emails
- Personal Learning Portfolio integrated into the SelfDesign online learning management systems
- Assistance from your Learning Consultant in developing your Learning Portfolio
- Professional learning assessments
- Professional review of work samples
- Interaction Path: If you plan to document learning on your own, but would like the benefit of additional coaching from a professional
SelfDesign Learning Consultant, then our Interaction Path may best meet your needs. Along with the core elements listed above, it includes:
- One hour per month with a dedicated Learning Consultant, divided among one-on-one phone consultations, video chats and emails
- Personal Learning Portfolio workbook and template included for optional use
- Ultimate Path: If you need both documentation and additional one-on-one direct consultation with a SelfDesign Learning Consultant,
then our Ultimate Path may fit your family best. It includes:
- All of the core elements listed above
- One hour per month with a dedicated Learning Consultant, divided among one-on-one phone consultations, video chats and emails
- Plus all of the other benefits shown under the Portfolio path
