FAQ: Applying to SelfDesign Global Distance Learning


Q. What will happen during an application interview?

Our interview process will touch on the following:

  • Confirm the applicant's interest in participating in the SelfDesign Global program
  • Confirm the applicant's suitability for the program
  • Confirm applicant has access to computer and high-speed internet service
  • Discuss the applicant's learning history and Vision for the future
  • Ensure the applicant and parent(s) have reviewed program literature and FAQs and are familiar with its main points
  • Discuss with at least one parent their expectations for the coming year
  • Discuss any remaining questions and issues
Q. What will happen after an applicant is accepted into the program?
After a successful interview, you will receive an acceptance letter and be assigned a user ID. You will be guided to log in and access the SelfDesign Global Online Learning Community. Following this you will be contacted by your Learning Consultant or program staff and given additional guidance about initiating the personal Learning Plan, as well as starting any projects or coursework in which the learner is interested.
Q. Can families enroll more than one child?
Yes, we are prepared to enroll multiple children in a family
Q. Can I enroll in the SelfDesign Global program and another learning program?
The SelfDesign Global program is most often a stand-alone program, though learners may wish to augment their work with additional coursework or mentor-led work. SelfDesign Global can also be an enrichment program that operates in tandem with, or before or after, another program of the family's choosing.
